My own interest in the legal process is more practical. I’ve represented myself in landlord-tenant matters and had to get up to speed on the law in a handful of other situations over the years. Each time, I found the same thing: the substance is genuinely fascinating once you’re in it. Researching a statute, working out how it actually gets applied, thinking through an argument from both sides. It’s the kind of work I find myself enjoying more than I expected to.
Those two things fit together. The cultural pull of a great trial is real. The intellectual substance behind it is even better. I tend to build gamified versions of serious concepts that turn into functional tools. AllRise is that instinct applied to the legal process. A platform where the case is real, the record is real, and the choices are yours.
The case method is one of the most powerful tools for teaching judgment ever invented. It’s also mostly confined to law schools, moot court competitions, and the heads of practicing attorneys.
